Winter’s Embrace
A stunning play of sunlight, the abstraction of the trees what a beautiful topic to learn art!! This was backyard of my college. Picturesque place always. Back then, it would have been a difficult assignment to capture the play of light in the trees on canvas. I enjoyed painting this nostalgic landscape. I have used old nib painting technique for the grass in this painting. This acrylic painting captures the serene beauty of Lake Thun in Switzerland, as seen through the lens of a train window. Even just looking at these ice blue mountains and water, we could feel the cold, though we were in warm train cabins. The scene was tranquil, with the stillness of the lake reflecting blue green mountains that gently rise along its shores. The soft interplay of green grass, combined with the calm waters, evokes a sense of peace and quietude—an invitation to pause and take in the sublime stillness of winter. The landscape is a perfect harmony of nature’s seasonal transitions, where the gentle embrace of winter meets the enduring strength of the land.
I have used a special nib painting technique for grass and bold abstract strokes for the painting.
