The Lilac beauty

Nature is extraordinary when it comes to creativity. I have always been in awe of how nature has amazing color combinations in place. I always wanted to paint a bird other than my most favorite one - peacock. From all the photos of exotic birds I saw this one I liked the most. ‘The Lilac Breasted Roller’ is an African bird of the roller family, Coraciidae. It is Kenya’s national bird because of the wide array of colors on its feather coat. The colors are supposed to represent the many different tribes that make up Kenya’s community. It is a beautiful reference to the rich diversity that exists within Kenya. The bird is called ‘Kambu’ in Swahili. I have made this a fusion painting with realistic bird and graphical nature.
