Between water and earth
I have always felt, Monsoon is a season of mixed feelings. We want to soak into that first cold rain to refresh our mind and forget about the surroundings. But at the same time we also want to stay inside our cozy home and enjoy the rain with hot cup of tea. (I am not a coffee person :)) We admire the freshness rain brings in the nature with washed leaves and bloomed flowers. It gives a complete brand new and refreshing look to the previously dull environment. But at the same time we pray for the rain to stop at the perfect time before everything is drenched in it and beyond damage control. I think same with our life. We don’t want too much of anything just a perfect balance of both worlds.
I had lot of fun working on this painting spontaneously without any rough drawings or sketches. The colors I chose are from my memories of visit to different places during vacations. I have used different techniques to achieve these results. It is a mixture of different textures, tiny spaces with doodling, block printing, textured colors and some of my favorite tools like sponge scrubber and painting knife.
